Why We use Mains-Fed Water Coolers

A mains-fed water cooler is connected to the building’s mains water supply and provides clean, filtered drinking water without the need for bottled storage.

Most people still picture a water cooler as a large bottle sitting on top of a machine. In workplaces, that usually means bottles to lift, bottles to store, and deliveries that need managing. With mains-fed systems, all of that disappears.

As demand increases, capacity is handled by installing additional units where they’re needed, rather than swapping bottles more often. That makes the same setup work just as well in a small office as it does in a large factory or industrial environment.

Because there are no bottles to accommodate, mains-fed machines are also much more compact. This allows for clean, modern floor-standing or desktop units that fit comfortably info offices, kitchens, and shared spaces, without dominating the room or creating storage issues.

For most workplaces, this makes mains-fed water coolers a simpler, safer, and more practical long-term option.

Yes, water coolers can dispense hot water

Many mains-fed water coolers are available with hot water dispensing, alongside standard drinking water.

This means a single, plumbed-in system can support everyday needs like teas and hot drinks, without relying on kettles or additional appliances.

It’s part of what makes modern mains-fed coolers more versatile than traditional bottled units.

Filtered water, done properly

All of our mains-fed water coolers use inline filtration to improve taste, reduce odour, and remove chlorine and fine particles from the incoming mains supply.

Filtration isn’t about turning good tap water into something different. It’s about consistency. mains water quality can vary slightly over time due to treatment changes, pipework, or local conditons, even when the overall supply is clean and safe.

Inline filtration helps smooth out those variations, so the water dispensed from the cooler tastes the same throughout the day from one site to the next. In a workplace setting, that consistency makes a real difference.

Using filtration as standard also helps protect internal components by reducing sediment and residue passing through the water line. This supports normal operation over time and helps avoid unnecessary strain on valves and dispense components.

Filters are consumable components and are replaced as part of planned servicing, alongside routine sanitisation and functional checks. Regular maintenance helps keep systems hygienic, predictable, and operating as intended.
